GEORGE SHRINKS

I am not the biggest fan of the George Shrinks television show. It's probably not fair but the thing that irritates me is George's voice. When I hear it, it bugs me almost as much as Caillou does. And Caillou bugs the shit out of me.

But the book, about a boy who dreams he is small and then is small, is one I liked. Sure, it's not my favourite William Joyce book (author of the Guardians of Childhood series, including THE MAN IN THE MOON and the soon to be released THE SANDMAN: THE STORY OF SANDERSON MANSNOOZIE) but it is fun and a great book to read to your kids at bedtime.

George goes on quite the adventure. He has to complete his daily chores that normally would take not much effort at all, but as the size of a mouse, are quite challenging, even life threatening!

If you or your children are fans of the television show they will certainly like this book. If, like me, they don't like the show, well, who knows? I liked the book, anyway!
